The delegation was headed by the vice-governor of St. Petersburg O.A. Kazanskaya.The delegation featured representatives of state governmental bodies, head physicians of St. Petersburg hospitals and heads of the St. Petersburg Territorial Compulsory Medical Insurance Fund.
The visit included meetings with R. Murakami, the vice mayor of Osaka, Y. Kanakura, the dean of the medical faculty at the state university, and T. Nakayama, the president of the Japan-Russia Medical Exchange Foundation, as well as getting acquainted with the work of Osaka health care facilities, and etc.
In the course of the negotiations the parties agreed to continue sharing experiences between St. Petersburg and Osaka in the sphere of health care and social development. Days of St. Petersburg are planned to be held in Osaka at the end of the year in order to further facilitate bilateral cultural ties.
