    The Festival dedicated to the Days of Scotland in St-Petersburg celebrated its 45th anniversary

    The Scottish delegation featuring representatives of the St-Petersburg Forum, the Robert Burns World Federation, cultural and educational establishments of Scotland participated in the events of the Days.

    The traditional Days of Scotland were celebrated from January, 28th to February,2nd.

    The program for the Days was organized by the St-Petersburg Association for International Cooperation, the St-Petersburg Forum (city of Paisley) and the National Library of Russia with support from the St-Petersburg Committee for External Relations, the National Pushkin Museum, educational establishments and the Consulate General of Great Britain in St-Petersburg.

    The Scottish delegation featuring representatives of the St-Petersburg Forum, the Robert Burns World Federation, cultural and educational establishments of Scotland participated in the events of the Days.

    Within the framework of the Days an exhibition titled “Scottish castles” displaying books and illustrations was opened at the National Library of Russia (165, Moskovsky pr.). The exhibition will be open until March, 16th. Competitions in art and literature and a competition “Do you know Scotland?” were held among the schoolchildren of St-Petersburg; a festive event in the memory of Robert Burns also took place.

    The Scottish delegation met the heads of the St-Petersburg Committee for Education. The meeting, which was held at the St-Petersburg Association for International Cooperation, drew the results of the joint projects and determined the prospects for the future. The delegation also visited the Piskariovksoye Memorial Cemetery, a number of cultural and educational establishments, as well as the Consulate General of Great Britain in St-Petersburg.
