This is the second visit of representatives of the Australian college to Saint-Petersburg. Longtime friendly ties unite the college with State Educational Institution Secondary General School No. 606.
In the frame of the visit college students and teachers met the Honorary Consulate of Australia in Saint-Petersburg S. Fitzlyon. Melbourne representatives visited Smolny museum with the assistance of Committee for external relations of Saint-Petersburg.
In the frame of cultural programme Australian pupils also visited the Hermitage Museum, Peter and Paul Fortress, Saint Isaak’s Cathedral, Church of the Savior on Spilled Blood, Catherine Palace, Konstantinovsky Palace, Peterhof and Pavlovsk. Students of the school No. 606 prepared the Lyceum and Tsarskoye Selo tours in English language for their friends from Melbourne.
For reference : Contacts between the educational institutions of two cities were established in 2008. During this period of time students of the school No. 606 visited Melbourne in February 2011 and in February 2013. Return visit of Melbourne representatives to Saint-Petersburg took place in 2012.
The visit of Saint-Petersburg pupils to Melbourne is planned on 2015. In the frame of anniversary year and with the assistance of Committee for external relations of Saint-Petersburg and City council of Melbourne the performances of orchestra of Australian doctors “Corpus Medicorum” took place in the Saint-Petersburg Court Capella and in Pavlovsk as well as the meetings of Australian doctors with their Petersburg colleagues.
