    On October 21 in Smolny the meeting of Mikhail Pavlovich Mokretsov, the Vice-Governor of St. Petersburg, with Mrs. Danai-Magdalini Koumanakou, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Hellenic Republic to the Russian Federation, took place

    It was a scheduled meeting due to Mrs. Koumanakou’s visit of St. Petersburg after being nominated to the be the Ambassador of Greece to Russia.

    In the meeting also Teodoros Bizakis, the Consul General of Greece in St. Petersburg, and Vladimir Vasilyevich Zapevalov, the Representative of the MFA of the Russian Federation to St. Petersburg, took place.

    The participants of the meeting shared the information on social and economic development of Greece and St. Petersburg, and showed interest in active development of two-way communications. Among the possibilities of future collaboration were defined: the development of tourism, trade expansion, exchange of experience in municipal solid waste recycling, development of relations between St. Petersburg and Greek partner cities, Thessalonike and Piraeus, development of cultural relations, taking into account the celebration of 2016, the Cross-Year of Russia and Greece. Mrs. Koumanakou announced the suggestion of Ministry of Tourism of Grecce to hold Greek and Russian international forum in St. Petersburg to attract investments in to the sphere of tourism.
