    A meeting of St. Petersburg Vice Governor O. A. Markov and Consul General of the Republic of Bulgaria P. Nestorova took place at Smolny.

Markov highly evaluated the level of collaboration between St. Petersburg and the Republic of Bulgaria and stressed the most promising spheres: shipbuilding, exhibition activities, contacts development in the field of small and medium-sized enterprises, tourism, education, culture, regional cooperation.

    O. A. Markov pronounced congratulations on the national holiday of the Republic of Bulgaria – the Day of Liberation from Ottoman Domination, celebrated on March 3, and thanked the Bulgarian representatives for preserving the memory of Russian soldiers, fallen in battles for liberation of Bulgaria during the Russo-Turkish War of 1877-1878.

    Consul General P. Nestorova remarked, that 2013 was stated to be the year of regional cooperation, and claimed, that the Consulate would be ready to support collaboration development between St. Petersburg and Bulgarian partners (Plovdiv, Plovdiv Province, Varna Province).

    P. Nestorova also accented the importance of cooperation development in the field of shipbuilding, particularly, in creating of floating parkings.
