    The traditional Days of Scotland were held in St. Petersburg

    From January 30 till February 4, 2013, the traditional Days of Scotland took place in St. Petersburg.

    The programme of the Days was arranged by St. Petersburg Association for International Cooperation and St. Petersburg Forum (Paisley) together with  St. Petersburg Committee for External Relations, the National Library of Russia, Petrovsky College, St. Petersburg Economic and Technological College of Nutrition, St. Petersburg secondary schools at the support of the Consulate General of Great Britain.

    A delegation from Scotland consisting of St. Petersburg Forum`s, Reid Kerr’s College, Robert Burns World Federation representatives took part in the events of the Days.

    As part of the Days, in the building of the National Library of Russia (165 Moskovsky prospect), book and illustration fair “Mary Stuart, Queen of Scots” started. Art and literature competitions, a quiz “Do You Know Scotland?” among the students of St. Petersburg schools, and an event dedicated to Scottish poet Robert Burns. At the meeting at St. Petersburg Committee for External Relations, some joint projects in the fields of business and humanities were discussed.

    The delegation visited the Legislative Assembly of Saint Petersburg, the municipality of Petergof and the Consulate General of Great Britain.

    During a meeting at Petersburg Association for International Cooperation, the results of the joint projects were summed up, and some perspectives for the future were made. The delegation visited the municipality of Petergof and Petrovsky College. Some meetings with children and tutors from the Orphanage Nr. 46 and the Educational center Nr. 633 were organized as well.
