    St.Petersburg Expands Contacts with China

    On September 21 through 23, 2012, Zhu Xiaodan, Governor of Guangdong Province (China) visited our city by the invitation of St.Petersburg Government.
    Guangdong is the most economically advanced province in China, it has been keeping the leadership in terms of contribution to GDP for more than 20 years.
    During the meeting in Smolny on September 21, OA Markov, Vice-Governor of St.Petersburg, had a conversation with the governor of Chinese province to discuss the investment cooperation of St.Petersburg and the province of Guangdong on a number of promising areas.
    According to Vice-Governor of St.Petersburg, China in recent years continues to be the leading trade partner of St.Petersburg and one of the major countries investing the city. He noted that the development of relations with China and Guangdong Province is one of the main priorities.
    O.A.Markov congratulated Zhu Xiaodan on the 63th anniversary of founding the China People’s Republic, and wished the delegation to get a positive impression of the visit to St.Petersburg.
