    The Priority Areas of Cooperation between St.Petersburg and Kazakhstan Were Discussed

    On February 14, 2012, A.V.Prohorenko, Chairman of St.Petersburg Committee for External Relations, had at Smolny a conversation with Beketzhan Makhatzhanovich Zhumakhanov, Consul General of the Republic of Kazakhstan in St.Petersburg.

    On February 14, 2012, A.V.Prohorenko, Chairman of St.Petersburg Committee for External Relations, had at Smolny a conversation with Beketzhan Makhatzhanovich Zhumakhanov, Consul General of the Republic of Kazakhstan in St.Petersburg.

    During the meeting, the following issues to enhance the cooperation between St.Petersburg and the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as its major centers Astana and Almaty, were discussed, taking into account the new conditions of the developing common Eurasian economic space:

    • activating the cooperation between small and medium-sized enterprises of St.Petersburg and the Republic of Kazakhstan on the basis of the St.Petersburg Partneriat;
    • an opportunity of establishing the Council for Business Cooperation between the Government of St.Petersburg and the Republic of Kazakhstan;
    • possible additions to the agreements on trade, economic, and cultural cooperation between St.Petersburg and the cities of Astana and Almaty, including a plan of joint activities for 2013–2015;
    • launching the St.Petersburg centers for information and business in Astana and Almaty;
    • participation of the official delegations in the important events at the congresses, exhibitions, and dedicated conferences that are held in St.Petersburg and the Republic of Kazakhstan.
