    Bordeaux and St.Petersburg Are To Celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the Partnership

    On February 3, 2012, a visit to St.Petersburg of the delegation from Bordeaux Mayor’s office, leaded by Laurent Viguier, Head of Directorate for International Relations, was completed. The purpose of the visit was to develop a plan of commemorative events devoted to the 20th anniversary of cooperation between St.Petersburg and Bordeaux.

    On February 3, 2012, a visit to St.Petersburg of the delegation from Bordeaux Mayor’s office, leaded by Laurent Viguier, Head of Directorate for International Relations, was completed. The purpose of the visit was to develop a plan of commemorative events devoted to the 20th anniversary of cooperation between St.Petersburg and Bordeaux.

    During the visit, there were business meetings with D.D.Meskhiev, Chairman of the Committee for Culture, A.I.Makarov, Chairman of the Committee for State Control, Usage, and Protection of Monuments of History and Culture, A.S.Nikolayev, Chairman of the Committee on Youth Policy and Interaction with NGOs, K.Yu.Mityurev, Principal Architect of St.Petersburg, I.O.Lonskiy and S.L.Markov, two vice-chairmen of St.Petersburg Committee for External Relations, and V.D.Kozlov, Director of the “Information and Education Center” branch of “Vodokanal St.Petersburg”.

    Following the negotiations, it was decided to hold a number of major events in the humanitarian and business spheres in 2012. On June 2, Intercultural Forum “Pedagogy of Cohabitation” will be held in Bordeaux, in which St.Petersburg will share the experience of the “Tolerance” program, and the parties will discuss the general problems of adaptation of migrants. In September, St.Petersburg is invited as a guest of honor at the Architectural Forum “Agora”. In autumn of 2012, an exchange of business missions is planned.
