    An Exhibition “Orthodox Life” Opened in St.Petersburg

    On December 1, 2011,the exhibition “Orthodox Life” was officially opened in Expocentre “Eurasia” (13 Kapitana Voronina St.). The exhibition is organized by regional public organization “Orthodox Spiritual Revival Center” with the support of the State Duma Committee for Public Associations and Religious Organizations.

The exhibition is organized by regional public organization “Orthodox Spiritual Revival Center” with the support of the State Duma Committee for Public Associations and Religious Organizations.

    The opening ceremony was attended by V.I .Zakharyashchev, Deputy Chairman of State Duma Committee, S.L.Markov, Deputy Chairman of St.Petersburg Committee for External Relations, Archpriest Alexander Budnikov, Dean of Bolsheokhtinskiy County, and other officials.

    In his opening speech, S.L.Markov said that this forum would contribute to the spiritual and moral development of modern society, to the preservation of native Russian traditions, and education adn enlightenment of our people. The exhibition would help to assess the beneficial effect of Orthodox Christianity on all aspects of modern life and contribute to a constructive dialogue between the Church and the state.

    “Orthodox Life” presents the results of the activities of secular and religious organizations from vaious cities of Russia, Ukraine, Serbia, that are working for the benefit of the Russian Orthodox Church.

    This project includes the round tables, lectures, presentations of books and programs of religious and secular charity organizations, watching the films and performances of musical groups. All these events allow visitors to once again touch the great Orthodox Christian culture.

    The exhibition lasts until December 5, 2011.
