    New Opportunities to Study Italian Language at Schools of St.Petersburg

    On November 3, 2011, O.V.Ivanova, Chairman of the Committee for Education, met with the representatives of the Ministry for Education, Higher Education, and Research of Italy. The sides discussed the implementation of the protocol resulting from the negotiations between the Committee fpr Education and the General Directorate for Foreign Affairs at the Ministry for Education, Higher Education and Research of Italy, which was signed in 2010.

The sides discussed the implementation of the protocol resulting from the negotiations between the Committee fpr Education and the General Directorate for Foreign Affairs at the Ministry for Education, Higher Education and Research of Italy, which was signed in 2010.

    By the motion of the St.Petersburg side, the project included four schools: School № 4 of Vasileostrovsky District, School № 318 of Frunzenskiy District, School № 639 of Nevskiy District and Classical Gymnasium № 610 of Petrogradskiy District. In addition, O.V.Ivanova said that the project participants could be another 11 secondary-education institutions in St.Petersburg.

    During the meeting, O.V.Ivanova suggested the Italian side to consider the possibility of organizing the training for the teachers of Italian and Russian languages. A similar program has been successfully carried out with the colleagues from Germany. Also, the competition for the Italian language knowledge might be included in the program of a traditional school competition in foreign languages in St.Petersburg.

    By the motion of St.Petersburg Committee for External Relations, the sides agreed on elaborating the program of specific activities that would complement the previously-signed protocol.
