    A Delegation of the Society of Friendship “Japan-Russia” Visited St.Petersburg

    On October 27 through 29, 2011, a delegation of the Society of Friendship “Japan-Russia” was in St.Petersburg, headed by its chairman, Mr Kunio Hatoyama, Deputy of the House of Representatives of the Japanese Parliament.

    On October 27 through 29, 2011, a delegation of the Society of Friendship “Japan-Russia” was in St.Petersburg, headed by its chairman, Mr Kunio Hatoyama, Deputy of the House of Representatives of the Japanese Parliament.

    On October 28, Georgiy Poltavchenko, Governor of St.Petersburg, met at Smolny with Mr Kunio Hatoyama, Deputy of the House of Representatives of the Japanese Parliament and President of the society “Japan-Russia”. During the meeting, the positive outcome of the existing bilateral cooperation was discussed, and the questions were raised about the further expanding the cultural and economic cooperation.

    After the meeting, the delegation visited the Smolny Museum. The same day, Mr Hatoyama gave a live interview to radio station “Echo of Moscow”.

    Society of “Japan-Russia ”is the largest NGO in Japan that promotes the Russo-Japanese relations in economy, science, and culture, including the development of Japan’s relations with St.Petersburg, where the Society of Friendship Japan–Russia have been existing for 50 years and celebrates its jubilee this year.
