The visit of parliamentary delegation from Buenos Aires was held within the framework of the Cooperation Agreement between the Government of St.Petersburg and the City of Buenos Aires of April 8, 2010, signed by V.I.Matvienko, ex-Governor of St.Petersburg, and Mauricio Macri, Mayor of Buenos Aires, during last year’s business mission of St.Petersburg in Latin America.

M.N.Brodskiy noted the great significance being given by St.Petersburg Government to the development of relations with Latin America, especially with Argentina as the leading economy in the Latin American region.

Oscar Moscariello, Head of Argentinian delegation, stressed the need to actively work on attracting the tourists from Argentina to visit St.Petersburg, saying that the tourism development contributes to the development of cooperation in other areas of activity – in the area of culture, sports, and even gastronomy. According to the Argentine representative, the special status of St.Petersburg and Buenos Aires in the context of the national legislations of Russia and Argentina is an additional factor to facilitate the coordination of cooperation.
