On June 16, 2011, Mr. Leopold Zahrer, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Forestry, Environment and Water Management of Austria, visited St.Petersburg to participate in St.Petersburg International Economic Forum.
During the visit, the Protocol was signed in Smolny after the negotiations on cooperation between the Committee for External Relations of St.Petersburg in person of its Chairman, A.V. Prokhorenko and the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, Environment and Water Resources in person of its Deputy Minister Leopold Zahrer.
The protocol involves the development of areas of cooperation in the field of environmental technology and renewable energy, waste management (collection, processing, recycling, etc.), methods and strategies for working with people and methods of implementing the specific projects of public-private partnership in environmental technology and waste treatment.
It is planned to create a working group that will operate in these areas within three years.
