    Chairman of the Committee for External Relations Met with the Consul General of Japan in St.Petersburg

    On April 20, 2011, A.V. Prokhorenko, Member of St.Petersburg Government, Chairman of the Committee for External Relations, met at Smolny with Ichiro Kawabata, Consul General of Japan.

    On April 20, 2011, A.V. Prokhorenko, Member of St.Petersburg Government, Chairman of the Committee for External Relations, met at Smolny with Ichiro Kawabata, Consul General of Japan.

    They discussed the possibility of implementing joint projects for 2011 within the framework of bilateral cooperation, as well as the issues of organizational and technical support of the planned visit of Yutaka Banno, State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, to St.Petersburg.

    The Consul General also stressed that despite the difficult situation in the north-eastern region of Japan due to the earthquake and the subsequent tsunami, the Government is making all possible efforts for the soonest recovery of the affected regions. As for the other regions not affected by natural disasters, these are keeping a process of continuous development in economy and production, trade and investment, international cooperation and tourism.
