On January 17, 2011, a solemn ceremony was held of awarding Miguel Angel Moratinos, a distinguished diplomat and former Foreign Affairs Minister of Spain, with the diploma of Honorary Doctor at St.Petersburg Humanitarian University of Trade Unions.

A.V. Prokhorenko, Member of St.Petersburg Government and Chairman of the Committee for External Relations, passed to Mr Moratinos the greetings of St.Petersburg Government.
Miguel Angel Moratinos held the post of Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Spain from March 2004 till October 2010. His Honorary Diploma is a sign of recognition of Miguel Moratinos, for his contribution to the successful cooperation between Spain and Russia.
