On October 15, 2010, V.V. Semenenko, Chairman of the Committee for Construction, met with representatives of construction companies of the Canadian Public Corporation for Housing and Mortgages.

During the meeting, the Canadian side presented a number of projects in low-rise construction, which can be implemented in St.Petersburg, and the technologies of building the affordable housing were discussed.

The meeting participants noted that, given that the Canadian party would attract extra investments, the implementation of the full-fledged project would be possible – from the site preparation to delivery of premises on a turnkey basis. Besides, the parties discussed the possible investment terms and projects under the scheme of public-private partnership.

St.Petersburg builders are familiar with the experience of Canadian colleagues, therefore V.V. Semenenko expressed in this connection his hope for fruitful cooperation, including such as of the program to provide the city with social housing.

Following the meeting, the Canadian corporation was asked to consider the opportunity of opening its representative office in St.Petersburg.
