    The Second Session of Working Group within the Framework of St.Petersburg Participation in the World Regions Forum

    On October 11, 2010, the second meeting of the working group was run in a videoconference mode, within the participation of St.Petersburg in the World Regions Forum (Milan, Lombardy).

    On October 11, 2010, the second meeting of the working group was run in a videoconference mode, within the participation of St.Petersburg in the World Regions Forum (Milan, Lombardy).

    After the first meeting on July 19, 2010, the parties decided to identify the most relevant topic on cooperation for all participating regions and to send to the Organizing Committee of detailed background information on directions: environment protection, health care (cancer treatment, “e-medicine”) and issues of mobility of students and professors.

    During the second meeting, the representatives of the Organizing Committee of the Forum described the first results of the analysis of materials provided by the regions. Also covered was the issue of expansion of cooperation areas and running the II World Regions Forum in 2011.

    Reference:
    World Regions Forum was first held in Milan on November 19 through 21, 2009. Delegates from the 16 regional governments signed the final declaration (“Milan Declaration”), which implied the willingness of the regions to develop cooperation in several directions. To implement the provisions of the Milan Declaration, it was decided to establish a special working group, as well as Internet resources with restricted access.
