    Delegation of Dublin Visited St.Petersburg

    On September 27 through 30, 2010, a delegation of Dublin, headed by Peter Finnegan, Director of the Department of International Relations and Research, visited St.Petersburg.

    On September 27 through 30, 2010, a delegation of Dublin, headed by Peter Finnegan, Director of the Department of International Relations and Research, visited St.Petersburg.

    During the visit, the delegation took part in Russian-Irish Dialogue “St.Petersburg–Dublin. International Cooperation of Innovative Cities”, included in the program of III St.Petersburg International Innovation Forum. Russian-Irish dialogue was organized by the Committee for External Relations with the support of Dublin City Council, the Irish Embassy in Russia and the NP "St.Petersburg–London 2003".

    During the Russian-Irish dialogue, promising directions of cooperation between St.Petersburg and Dublin were discussed, in terms of innovation, including the promotion of contacts between technoparks, companies, and research institutions of the two cities to promote innovative technologies, international commercialization of scientific research, and training the personnel for the innovation economy.

    The event was attended by the representatives of major universities and business community of St.Petersburg and Dublin, the Irish Embassy, and administrations of both cities.

    At a round table, A.V. Prokhorenko, Chairman of St.Petersburg Committee for External Relations, and P. Finnegan, Director of the Department of International Relations and Research at the Dublin City Council, signed an agreement on the outcome of negotiations on partnership and cooperation between St.Petersburg and Dublin.

    The delegation took part in other activities of III St.Petersburg International Innovation Forum.
