    VI Annual International Conference “Cross-Border Cooperation: Russian Federation, the European Union, and Norway”

    On September 21 and 22, 2010, VI Annual international conference “Cross-Border Cooperation: Russian Federation, the European Union, and Norway” was held at the hotel "Park Inn Pribaltijskaya” in St.Petersburg.

    On September 21 and 22, 2010, VI Annual international conference “Cross-Border Cooperation: Russian Federation, the European Union, and Norway” was held at the hotel "Park Inn Pribaltijskaya” in St.Petersburg.

    The conference is organized by the Ministry of Regional Development, Presidential Office of Russian Federation in the North-Western Federal District, and North-Western Agency for Development and Investment.

    The Conference was attended by the representatives of executive authorities at various levels from the European Union, the Commonwealth of Independent States, Norway, and Russia, the Consuls General accredited to St.Petersburg offices of foreign states, representatives of international governmental and non-governmental organizations, business, academical circles, etc.

    The Conference held plenary meetings and round tables on the following topics:
    • Cross-border cooperation of the North-Western Federal District focussed at St.Petersburg.
    • Joint planning of development for border-adjacent areas.
    • Cross-border cooperation and investment.
    • Transport and Logistics.
    • Project management of cross-border cooperation within the European Neighborhood and Partnership Instrument.

    The conference was held a regular meeting of the Coordinating Council on cross-border and interregional cooperation under the Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Northwestern Federal District.

    This Conference has once again demonstrated its viability as a platform for public discussions, sharing new ideas and making concrete decisions and mechanisms for cooperation of border-adjacent areas.
