On February 18, 2010, the opening of the exhibition "Joseph Beyrle - the Hero of Two Nations", devoted to the 65th anniversary of the end of the Second World War, took place at the Stroganov Palace of State Russian Museum, with the participation of St.Petersburg Governor V.I. Matvienko.

The exhibition was prepared by the Foundation for International Arts and Education (USA) following the consultation of John Beyrle, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of USA in Russia, and the U.S. Consulate General in St.Petersburg.

A unique biography of Joseph Beyrle, father to John Beyrle, U.S. Ambassador to Russia, and an American paratrooper who fought for both the American and Soviet armies during the World War II, made the core of the exhibition.

The exhibition features over 250 items: military orders, medals, and decorations; clothing and household utensils of wartime; photos and archival materials from various archives and museums, including the Museum of the Military Medical Academy in St.Petersburg.
