The delegation arrived to St.Petersburg aiming to give a presentation of the jubilee edition of a book published in Spain and devoted to the great Spanish engineer Agustín de Betancourt. The project was implemented together with the Petersburg State University of Means of Communication, whose founder and the first rector was Agustin de Betancourt.
Participants of the meeting exchanged their opinions concerning the development of bilateral Russo-Spanish relations. During the meeting, Milagros Luis Brito expressed the interest in development of communications between St.Petersburg and Canary Islands in the areas of tourism and culture, and trade and economy, as well as in establishing the contacts between universities and scientific organizations, and in partner relations between the city Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, the birthplace of Agustín de Betancourt, and Town Pushkin.
