The Committee for External Relations, in collaboration with the Information Bureau at the Nordic Council of Ministers, launched a project aimed at developing the cooperation with Nordic countries to support small- and medium-scale business (SMB), within the limits of implementing the Plan for Promotion and Support of Small Business in St.Petersburg for 2008–2011.
The Committee for External Relations, in collaboration with the Information Bureau at the Nordic Council of Ministers, launched a project aimed at developing the cooperation with Nordic countries to support small- and medium-scale business (SMB), within the limits of implementing the Plan for Promotion and Support of Small Business in St.Petersburg for 2008–2011.
As a part of the project, a business trip to Sweden and Norway of representatives of St.Petersburg Administration and the profile professional organizations was arranged on March 15 through 22, 2002, during which the participants studied the corresponding foreign experience.
The 15-people-strong delegation included the representatives of the Committee for External Relations, Committee for Economic Development, Industrial Policy, and Trade, Committee on Information and Communications, and Committee on Employment in St Petersburg, as well as representatives of the Public Council on Small-Scale Business at the St.Petersburg Governor Office, St.Petersburg Business Development Foundation and others.
An international conference will be held in Smolny in May next, during the Days of Oslo in St.Petersburg, devoted to the results of this trip and the issues of small-scale business development, in the course of which the participants will be acquainted with the recommendations on improvement of the system of SMB support in St.Petersburg, elaborated following the reports and suggestions of the project participants.
