On December 9-12, 2017 the Days of Saint-Petersburg were held on in Mumbai (India).
The event is dedicated to the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Russia and India, as well as the 50th anniversary of the establishment of twinning relations between St. Petersburg and Mumbai.
The event was attended by a delegation of St. Petersburg headed by the Deputy Chairman of the Committee on industrial policy and innovation of St. Petersburg E. V. Fedorova.
Within the framework of the program, the St. Petersburg delegation met with the mayor of Mumbai V. Mahadeshvar on the development of bilateral cooperation.
At the Russian centre of science and culture, held round tables on issues of educational and tourist potential of St. Petersburg. An opening of the tourist office «Visit ST.Petersburg» took place as well.
Also, Indian colleagues were presented an electronic presentation of the SPbGBU «Museum – Institute of the Roerichs family» and an electronic presentation of the Institute of Oriental manuscripts of Russian Academy of Sciences collection.
In conjunction with the Northwest Bank PAO Sberbank and the branch of Sberbank in India hosted a round table on issues of economic cooperation, investment and industrial potential.
There were held the negotiations between the municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai and GUP "Vodokanal of St. Petersburg".
As part of the days cultural program, retrospective screenings of films produced by the Lenfilm film Studio, a photo exhibition dedicated to St. Petersburg, and concerts of the state folklore ensemble "Barynya" were organized.
