    Agreement Signed on Cooperation between the Government of St.Petersburg and Rossotrudnichestvo

    On April 27, 2010, F.M. Mukhametshin, Head of Rossotrudnichestvo, met at Smolny with V.I. Matvienko, Governor of St. Petersburg. Discussed were the issues of cooperation of St.Petersburg Government and Rossotrudnichestvo in the implementation of the humanitarian component of the foreign policy of Russian Federation.

    On April 27, 2010, F.M. Mukhametshin, Head of Rossotrudnichestvo, met at Smolny with V.I. Matvienko, Governor of St. Petersburg. Discussed were the issues of cooperation of St.Petersburg Government and Rossotrudnichestvo in the implementation of the humanitarian component of the foreign policy of Russian Federation.

    After the meeting, a ceremony took place of signing the Cooperation Agreement between St.Petersburg Government and Rossotrudnichestvo. «The Agreement that is signed now will fix our relationship. We continue to count on your support, and for our part, we will increase the volume of work with our compatriots, and intensify the promotion of cultural projects», the Governor underlined.

    F.M. Muhametshin noted that «by signing the Agreement, St.Petersburg shows a good example of interaction between federal and regional authorities. Federal Agency will borrow the great experience of the cultural capital of Russia in the development of cooperation with compatriots».

    The Agreement provides for:
    • support and development of Russian language and Russian education abroad,
    • development of cultural and humanitarian, scientific and information cooperation of St.Petersburg with the neighbouring and other countries,
    • strengthening the contacts between Russian citizens and compatriots abroad,
    • development of twinning,
    • promotion of cultural and historical heritage of the northern capital,
    • presentation of St.Petersburg potential for investments and tourism.
