    On July 19, 2010, a session of a working group concerning the participation of St. Petersburg in the World Regions Forum (Milan, Lombardy) was held as a videoconference.

    On July 19, 2010, a session of a working group concerning the participation of St. Petersburg in the World Regions Forum (Milan, Lombardy) was held as a videoconference.

    Discussed were joint projects in the following areas: economy, knowledge-based, environment protection, and health. Besides, the problem of widening the areas of cooperation was consider, as well as running the II World Regions Forum in 2011.

    Reference:
    World Regions Forum was first held in Milan on November 19 through 21, 2009. The delegates from 16 regional governments signed the final declaration (“Milan Declaration”), which implies the willingness of regions to develop cooperation in several areas. To implement the provisions of Milan Declaration, it was decided to establish a special working group, as well as an Internet resource with restricted access.
