    On July 10, the II International Festival of Cultures “Slavonic World” in the Estonian town Jõhvi.

    On July 10, the II International Festival of Cultures “Slavonic World” in the Estonian town Jõhvi.

    Organizers: Baltic publishing house Inforing, with the assistance of the Committee for External Relations and the Committee for Culture of St.Petersburg (within the framework of the Program of St.Petersburg Government to implement the state policy concerning the compatriots living abroad), Embassy of Russia in Estonia.

    A honorary guest of the festival – St.Petersburg – was presented in the program by: Maria Pakhomenko, Alexander Kolker, Eduard Khil, Marina Kapuro, and Yuriy Ohochinskiy.

    Representatives of the Institute of Russian Language and Culture (State University) made a presentation of curricula of higher education. As the venue of the Slavonic festival, an old park of the former gentlefolk manor in Jõhvi was chosen, because this town is located on the north-east Estonia and its population includes the largest number of Russian citizens.
