On April 23, 2010, at the building of the Plenipotentiary Representative of President of the Russian Federation in the Northwestern Federal District, the first meeting of the Business Council «Northern Dimension» was held, co-chaired by AA Mordashov, General Director of OAO Severstal, and T. Kuula, President and Co-Chairman of the Directorial Board of «Fortum Corporation».

On November 12, 2009, in Stockholm, the senior officials of the Northern Dimension agreed about the establishment of the Business Council of the Northern Dimension. It is expected that the activities of the Business Council will lead to a substantial increase in the interaction of business communities in the North-West of Russia and in general in the territory of the Northern Dimension.
