On April 21, 2010, at the State Russian Museum (4 Inzhenernaya St.) the ceremony of signing the Agreement on Cooperation in the field of exhibition, social, cultural and educational activities between the Municipality of Kotka (Finland), the Museum Department of Finland and the State Russian Museum was held.
The ceremony was attended by the representatives of Kotka City Hall, the Museum Department of Finland, the Consulate General of Finland in St.Petersburg, St.Petersburg Committee for External Relations, Helsinki-Center in St.Petersburg, and Finnish and Russian media.
One of the priority areas of cooperation is the annual «Day of Russian Museum» in the maritime center «Vellamo» of Town Kotka (since 2011). The program of the «Day of Russian Museum» will include exhibitions of artworks from the collection of the Russian Museum, running the scientific seminars and conferences, joint research and educational projects, etc.
