The bust is installed at the town’s central embankment, which bears the name of Maria Alexandrovna. The embankment is decorated with 1000 palm-trees, once a gift of the Empress. The bronze bust has been produced by Vladimir Gorev, a famous Petersburg sculptor.

The opening ceremony was attended by M.Zoccorato, Mayor of San-Remo, and E.M.Boykov, Consul General of Russia in Genoa.

With the assistance of the Committee for Culture, as a part of activities to mark the opening of the bust, a concert of St.Petersburg orchestra “Klassika” was performed in San Remo, under the baton of Alexander Kantorov.
