    Results of Presentation of Russian Educational Programs Concerning High School in Baltic Countries and Finland Summed up

    On March 11, 2010, at Bobrinskiy Palace (58-60 Galernaya St.,) a roundtable discussion was held on “Promotion of Russian Educational Programs Concerning High School in Republics of Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, and Finland. Results and Prospects”.

    The results of presentation of Russian educational programs concerning high school in Baltic countries and Finland were summed up.

    On March 11, 2010, at Bobrinskiy Palace (58-60 Galernaya St.,) a roundtable discussion was held on “Promotion of Russian Educational Programs Concerning High School in Republics of Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, and Finland. Results and Prospects”.

    Roundtable organizer: NGEI “North-Western Academy of Foreign Languages” in Baltic countries, with the assistance of the “Russian World” Foundation and St.Petersburg Committee for External Relations.

    The participants agreed about the importance of the activities undertaken in the Baltic countries. O.L. Mukovskiy, Director of St.Petersburg branch of the “Russian World” Foundation mentioned that “this set of events once again exposed St.Petersburg as one of the major centers of developing the cooperation with Russian diaspora abroad and as a pan-European educational center”.

    Thanks to the project, the relationships were further developed or established anew with the organizations of compatriots abroad dealing in the area of education, culture, art, and science.

    As a part of the roundtable, the significance of St.Petersburg Government Program To Implement the State Policy of Russia Concerning the Compatriots Abroad for 2008–2010 was noted, and V.N. Balskiy, Head of the Department for Relations with Compatriots Abroad at St.Petersburg Committee for External Relations, informed the participants about its progress and implementation plans.

    The participants expressed their interest to further contribute the project on an ongoing basis.
