On June 24, at the Mariinsky Palace, with the assistance of the Committee on External Relations of St. Petersburg, a meeting was held between the chairman of the Legislative Assembly of the Legislative Assembly of St. Petersburg Denis Chetyrbok and Ms. Le Thi Ngoy. Deputies of the St. Petersburg parliament Boris Ivchenko, Mikhail Pogorelov and others also took part in the conversation.

It was also noted that relations between St. Petersburg and Vietnam are developing dynamically. Over the years, the Legislative Assembly was attended by more than 20 delegations from Vietnam. The deputy expressed hope for further strengthening the interaction of our city with Vietnamese cities and provinces.

For reference: By the decision of the leadership of our countries, the years 2019-2020 are declared the Cross Years of Russia and Vietnam.

During the conversation, parliamentarians separately dwelt on issues related to the preservation of cultural heritage, the management of urban property and the development of the tourism industry in St. Petersburg.

Ms. Le Thi Nga thanked the deputies for the warm welcome and noted the recent visit of the Prime Minister of Vietnam, comrade. Nguyen Xuan Fuca to St. Petersburg and his appreciation for this visit. It was noted that this event will positively affect the development of cooperation between St. Petersburg and the regions of Vietnam in the future. She emphasized that the expansion of friendly relations between the two states is one of the main priorities of Vietnam’s foreign policy. The same, she said, can be said about the interaction of parliaments, including at the regional level. Deputies of the National Assembly of Vietnam are extremely interested in holding consultations and exchanging experience in legislative work.
