The 16-volume novel ''Earth'', which Park Kenny wrote for 26 years, is the largest novel of Korean literature in 20th century. It reflects everything that Korea has lived for half a century, and everything that Pak Kenny has suffered herself.

The Chairman of the Committee for External Relations of St. Petersburg, Yevgeny Grigoryev, sent a welcome speech to the organizers and participants of the festival.

“Pak Kenny is a talented writer whose novel is on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Of course, her name deserves to become widely known among the Russian reader. And I sincerely hope that this festival will serve to popularize her work”, the greeting says.

The festival was organized as part of the work of the Culture and Art working group of the Russia-Republic of Korea Dialogue forum.

In the framework of the festival, poems by Pak Kenny and excerpts from the novel "Earth" were recited in Korean and Russian. Experts spoke about the work of the writer.
