Theme of the conference: “The development of educational, cultural and scientific ties with compatriots living abroad. Contributing to the preservation of the Russian spiritual and cultural environment. ”
The report of the representative of the Committee for External Relations of St. Petersburg took place during the first all-Russian meeting, organized as part of the conference and brought together representatives of the executive branch of the Russian regions working in the field of supporting Russian compatriots abroad.
The meeting was attended by representatives of Moscow, St. Petersburg, Tatarstan, Yamal, Altai Territory, Volgograd, Nizhny Novgorod, Rostov and Orenburg Regions, the Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol.
The Committee for External Relations of St. Petersburg presented the experience of the region in organizing specific formats and forms of interaction with compatriots. Employees of relevant authorities from other regions were invited to visit St. Petersburg to exchange best practices, as well as to combine the efforts of several entities for joint events for compatriots.
Thus, the participants recognized the positive experience of the joint support by the Governments of Moscow and St. Petersburg of events of compatriots abroad, in particular Maslenitsa in Ireland.
During the conference, representatives of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation exchanged experience in supporting Russian compatriots and presented proposals for consolidating the regional resources of the Russian Federation in this direction.
On the sidelines of the meeting, in particular, preliminary negotiations were held regarding the interaction of the Government of Moscow and St. Petersburg during the forum planned in St. Petersburg aimed at developing cooperation between Russia and Belarus.
Also, compatriots from 14 countries, including the CIS and Europe, took part in the conference. The event was opened by Natalia Komarova, Governor of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous District - Ugra.
The conference program included a plenary session, thematic sections in the field of economics, youth work, support for the Russian language, strengthening the Russian world abroad.
Also on June 1, V World Games of young compatriots, which brought together participants from 61 countries, were officially opened.
