    On May 29, First Deputy Chairman of the Committee for External Relations of St. Petersburg Sergey Markov met in Smolny with the representatives of the Greek airline ''Ellinair'' and the travel company ''Mouzenidis Travel''

    The meeting was attended by specialized committees of the Administration of St. Petersburg, as well as representatives of Pulkovo Airport and city tour operators.

    The parties discussed the terms of the project to open a new route between Athens and St. Petersburg.

    The Government of St. Petersburg supported the initiative to launch a new air service. Sergey Markov confirmed his partners' readiness to provide comprehensive assistance to Ellinair Airlines and the ''Mouzenidis Travel'' Company. Representatives of Pulkovo Airport also expressed their interest in the project. The parties agreed that the implementation of the project could be an important aspect in strengthening cooperation between St. Petersburg and Greece.

    Given the great tourist potential, representatives of the Greek delegation noted the investment attractiveness of opening a new international route.

    In turn, First Deputy Chairman of the Committee for External Relations of St. Petersburg Sergei Markov, noted that today, in addition to relations at the level of the City Government, 8 district administrations and 3 municipalities of St. Petersburg also have cooperation agreements with Greek partners. In connection with the intensive development of bilateral cooperation, according to the parties, the plan to launch an air route has all the prerequisites for successful implementation.

    Also during the meeting, an exchange of views on specific steps of the project. The participants agreed to form working groups that will deal with the detailed elaboration of a unified strategy for launching a new flight link between Athens and St. Petersburg.

    The project is carried out with the direct assistance of the St. Petersburg Information Business Center in Alexandroupolis.
