    April 24, 2019, representatives of the restaurants participating in "St. Petersburg Cuisine" Project visited the Museum of Catering Development in St. Petersburg (Museum of Petersburg Cuisine)

    Historian Tatyana Tsvetkova told the guests about the historical formation and development of the phenomenon of St. Petersburg cuisine from the era of Peter The Great to the Soviet period.
    The museum has unique exhibits: kitchen utensils of the Winter Palace, a colander of the famous French chef, founder of St. Petersburg cuisine Antoine Karem, authentic coronation menus and menus of St. Petersburg restaurants of the XIX century.
    During the tour, restaurateurs got acquainted with the original recipes of St. Petersburg pastry shops (“Blanmange”, “Apple Sambuk”, “Shafrua”, etc.) and saw authentic photographs of famous restaurants of St. Petersburg of the XIX century “Palkin”, “Vienna”, “Donon” , "Bear" and others.
    The event was organized by the Committee for External Relations of St. Petersburg in conjunction with the University Polytechnic College, which houses the Museum of St. Petersburg Cuisine.
