During the meeting the parties discussed the status of the sister city relationship between St. Petersburg and Osaka, the results of the development of cooperation with regions of Japan (Hokkaido Prefecture, city of Yokohama), promising areas of cooperation in the field of improvement of urban farming, landscaping, waste management, the implementation of the program "Smart city", the development of the hotel and sports infrastructure in St. Petersburg, start-up support.

The head of the Japanese delegation, Mr. Jun Sato, spoke about the main activities of the "Kansai Association of corporate executives".

The Kansai Keizai doyukai Association of corporate executives (translated from English; the Russian literature also uses the Japanese translation of Kansai society of economic associates) was established in 1946 as a private, non-profit organization based on the principles of individual membership. Created in the postwar years to unite the business community, the Association has set its basic goal of the desire to restore the economy and the formation of sustainable growth. The main focus of "Kansai Keizai Shimbun douki" is on establishing mutually beneficial business cooperation, carrying out various discussions on the most topical issues of business, the preparation of appropriate recommendations to the authorities in order to create an "open Osaka and the Kansai region, with strong ties to the world."

Today, the organization has 829 members, most of whom are Executive Directors and chairmen of the boards of Directors of commercial and industrial companies. At the same time, within the framework of its activities in Keizai doyukai, its participants do not represent the interests of individual enterprises or sectors of the economy, but concentrate their efforts on developing substantive recommendations to the authorities and business colleagues on pressing issues of the socio-economic agenda, specific proposals and strategies. The Association has a very significant impact on the formation of regional and corporate policy, its members have significant leverage over the power structures.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to establish contacts between the members of the delegation representing the leading companies of Japan and St. Petersburg companies of the relevant industries (production of packaging materials, measuring equipment, household and industrial air conditioners, production, purchase and sale of stationery, machine tools, export and import operations, transportation, support for start-UPS).
