February 13, 2019 at the Institute of Ho Chi Minh of St. Petersburg state University held a joint meeting of the Expert-analytical club under the patronage of the Committee for external relations of St. Petersburg.
The meeting was devoted to the beginning of the Cross year of Russia and Vietnam. Director of the Institute Ho Chi Minh, Professor of St. Petersburg state University Vladimir Kolotov spoke to the audience. he spoke about the aspects of the current state of Russian-Vietnamese relations, as well as the history of the conflict between Vietnam and China, which took place 40 years ago in 1979.
Veronika Chechetko, a 3rd year student of the eastern faculty of St. Petersburg state University, also spoke about the attitude of the Soviet Union to the confrontation between the two Communist States.
The peculiarity of this meeting was the presence of a Vietnam war veteran, candidate of military Sciences, Professor Colonel Alexei Ivanovich Skreblyukov, who spoke about his personal experience in this country as a military specialist.
