    The Committee for external relations of St. Petersburg discussed cooperation with UNESCO departments

    25 December 2018 in Smolny took place the meeting of Deputy Chairman of the Committee for external relations of St. Petersburg, head of the Department of information and relations with international organizations Vyacheslav Kalganov with the Executive Secretary of the coordination Committee of UNESCO chairs of the Russian Federation Oksana Novikova and members of the Committee Lyudmyla Balyasnikova, Valery Manahov, Dmitry Spivak, during which they discussed the issues of expansion of cooperation between the government of the city and the UNESCO chairs of the universities in our city.

    Vyacheslav Kalganov stressed that it is necessary to comprehensively assess the importance of UNESCO programs that are implemented in our city, as well as to develop cooperation between authorities and departments in the field of information exchange and maintain the status of St. Petersburg as one of the Russian and European centers of education, which is greatly facilitated by events and forums held in cooperation with international organizations, especially such as UNESCO.

    In this regard, the participants of the meeting agreed to expand cooperation and implement a number of joint projects within the framework of international scientific and educational cooperation, which will develop the intellectual potential of St. Petersburg.
