    Presentation of St. Petersburg cuisine was held in the Hungarian capital

    On 27 September 2018 a presentation of the Government of St. Petersburg project “St. Petersburg cuisine” was held in Budapest (Hungary) as part of the formal reception on behalf of the Governor of St. Petersburg.

    The leading Chefs from the northern capital presented special menu to the guests that was created to include such traditional dishes of St. Petersburg as Kalia – pickle soup with Gatchina style marinated trout, Bitkis à la Scobeleff with Kasha à la Gurieff and the dessert St. Petersburg Triptych comprised of Blinis of Arina Rodionovna à la Pushkin, Pavlova dessert named after the ballerina Anna Pavlova and a cake Napoleon.

    The classiс dishes were cooked based on the traditional recipes from the books by I.M. Radetsky “St. Petersburg Cuisine” (1862) and P.M. Zelenko “Cooking Art” (1902) with a modern twist by a chef from St. Petersburg Anton Isakov and a Pastry chef Lyudmila Zhalnina.
