    Korea Festival in St. Petersburg was attended by approximately 18 thousand people

    On 13-14 October St. Petersburg hosted Korea Festival for the first time at ARTPLAY Design and Architecture Center.

    The Event was organized by Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in St. Petersburg with the support of the Committee for External Relations of St. Petersburg.    

    The Festival opening ceremony included performances by K-POP cover dance group, students of the Department for Choreographic Art from St. Petersburg University of the Humanitarian and Social Sciences, Korean Uni-Fi band as well as taekwondo masters.       

    As part of the Festival, visitors had a chance to watch a traditional Korean play “Simchonjon” performed in Russian by Korean school pupils and a feature film “Dongju”. In addition, tasting of dishes from traditional Korean cuisine, agricultural products and seafood as well as presentations of products manufactured by Korean enterprises were organized.

    Guests of the Festival had an opportunity to learn about tourism opportunities in the Republic of Korea, to play Korean traditional games and to get insight into the diversity of the Korean culture.

    According to Consul General of the Republic of Korea in St. Petersburg Kwon Don Sok, it is planned to hold the Event annually.
