The delegation was led by Jim Sillars, a politician, a member of the Scottish National Party, Member of the UK Parliament (retired).
During the visit, the members of the Scottish delegation met with the Chairman of the Committee for External Relations of St. Petersburg Evgeny Grigoriev and the Chairman of the Committee for Science and Higher Education Andrey Maksimov.
The Parties discussed issues of maintaining the existing contacts and establishing new ones in business and humanitarian areas. During the meeting, the Scottish Party was invited to participate in the St. Petersburg International Cultural and Education Forums.
The visit program of the Group of Scottish Friends of Russia in St. Petersburg also included a meeting with teachers and students of St. Petersburg State University of Economics and representatives of educational institutions and social organizations of the city that was held on the premises of the St. Petersburg Association for International Cooperation.
