    Partnership of twin cities of St. Petersburg and Dresden has been recognized as one of the winners of Outstanding and Innovation German-Russian Projects Competition

    Announcement of the Competition results and the ceremony of awarding the winners took place in Berlin (Germany) on 14 September 2018.

    The Competition was organized as part of the activities for the Russian-German Year of Regional and Municipal Partnerships.

    The ceremony of awarding the winners was attended by the Russian and German Foreign Ministers Sergey Lavrov and Heiko Maas.

    Deputy Chairman of the Committee for External Relations of St. Petersburg Arbi Abubakarov accepted the award on behalf of St. Petersburg.

    Ober-burgomaster Dirk Hilbert participated in the Event on the part of Dresden.   

    As noted by the Chairman of the Committee for External Relations of St. Petersburg Evgeny Grogoriev, cooperation between St. Petersburg and Dresden is currently at historically high level. “Road Map for 2018-2025 was signed in May this year that provides for collaboration between the cities covering a wide range of areas, including development of civil society, economies, culture, science and higher education, tourism, environment and protection of monuments”, E.D. Grigoriev added.

    Partnership of twin cities of Pushkin and Zerbst/Anhalt has also been recognized as one of the Competition winners.
