    On 08 October Days of St. Petersburg began in Osaka (Japan)

    St. Petersburg delegation that arrived in Japan to participate in the Events was led by Yuri Shesterikov, Member of the Government of St. Petersburg, Representative of the Governor of St. Petersburg in the Legislative Assembly.  

    The Events were organized under the Cross Year of Russia in Japan and in the run-up to celebrating the 40th anniversary of establishing twin-city relations between the cities (2019).

    On 09 September the delegation head Yuri Shesterikov had a meeting with Deputy Mayor of Osaka Mr. Seigo Tanaka at Osaka City Hall. In the course of the conversation the sides discussed prospects for the development of bilateral cooperation. Yu.B. Shesterikov presented proposals of St. Petersburg for development of cooperation in tourism, archival business and school exchanges to the Japanese side and also invited the leaders of the partner-city to the banks of the Neva River to hold the reciprocal Days of Osaka in St. Petersburg in April-May 2019.  

    After the meeting at the City Hall, the St. Petersburg delegation was received by Chairman of Osaka City Assembly Mr. Kakutani Shoichi. At the meeting, prospects for cooperation between St. Petersburg Legislative Assembly and Osaka City Assembly were discussed.

    A photo exhibit devoted to St. Petersburg was opened at Osaka City Hall on the same day, and at Consulate General of the Russian Federation in Osaka movies of Lenfilm Studio were shown.
