Today, on 14 November 2018 Deputy Chairman of the Committee for External Relations of St. Petersburg Vyacheslav Kalganov met with the delegation from Thai Binh Province of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam headed by Deputy Secretary of the Vietnam Communist Party Province Committee Comrade Dang Chong Thang.
Before the dialogue Vyacheslav Genndyevich Kalganov expressed condolences to Vietnamese people in connection with the recent untimely demise of the country’s President Chanh Dai Quang. In the course of the conversation he also reported on the plans of St. Petersburg for 2019 that will be the Cross Year of Russia and Vietnam and invited Thai Binh Province to support cooperation between the countries at regional level.
Head of the Vietnamese delegation in his turn reported that the region is one of the advanced in Vietnam to attract foreign investment and it has recently acquired status of special economic region. In addition, he shared the opinion that creating conditions for development of international cooperation in business is one of the key objectives of bilateral collaboration.
Noting rapid increase in interaction between St. Petersburg and Ho Chi Minh City based on Partnership Agreement and Road Map on its implementation signed in May 2018, Comrade Dang Chong Thang put forward an initiative to conclude a similar Agreement between the Province and one of the districts or municipal entities of our city.
