    St. Petersburg Governor Georgy Poltavchenko met with the Vice-President of Vietnam Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh.

    On September 20, 2018, in Smolny, Governor Georgy Poltavchenko met with the Vice-President of Vietnam, Ms. Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh, who participates in the Second Eurasian women's forum.

    During the conversation, the sides discussed the development of bilateral cooperation. Georgy Poltavchenko congratulated Ms. Dang Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh on the independence Day of Vietnam, which is celebrated on September 2. In her turn, the Vice-President thanked the Governor for organizing the celebration of the important date – the 95th anniversary of the first arrival of comrade Ho Chi Minh in our city and our country. The St. Petersburg part of the commemorative events was held in May 2018 with the participation of the delegation of Ho Chi Minh city.

    Georgy Poltavchenko noted that in recent years cooperation between Russia and Vietnam has significantly intensified. Trade turnover is growing, tourist flows are increasing. Russian and St. Petersburg companies successfully operate in Vietnam. A project of a Vietnamese hotel construction company is being implemented in St. Petersburg. In the near future, our city for the exchange of experiences will be visited by the representatives of the Government of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the delegation of the Department of information and communications of Ho Chi Minh city. Georgy Poltavchenko emphasized that St. Petersburg is ready to share new technologies in the management of the metropolis, as well as innovative developments in pharmaceuticals, shipbuilding, cybersecurity, medicine, instrumentation, electricity. Ms. Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh among the promising areas of cooperation called the automotive industry, space exploration, infrastructure development.

    It is planned to hold an exhibition from the Ho Chi Minh war Museum in St. Petersburg, as well as to open the cultural and business center of Ho Chi Minh city.

    The Governor wished Ms. Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh and the delegation of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam fruitful work at the Eurasian women's forum, success in the implementation of joint plans for the development of cooperation between St. Petersburg and Vietnam.
