    The University of Milan and Russian schools in Northern Italy received the literature as a gift from the government of St. Petersburg

    On October 17, 2018 at the Consulate General of Russia in Milan (Italy) was held a ceremony of transfer of educational, methodical and fiction literature to the  Coordinating Council of associations of Russian compatriots in the North Italy.

    The action was organized by the External Affairs Committee of St. Petersburg in the framework of the state policy of the Russian Federation in relation to compatriots abroad.

    More than 100 copies of the books are allocated to the following schools of additional education:

    • school "ABC" at the Russian community "Fellowship" Turin,
    • school "Divo" at the Russian-Italian Association "Divo" Turin,
    • school "Harmony" Milan,
    • school "Academy " at the Association "Scarlet sails" Milan,
    • school "Saturday trip to Russia" at the Association  "UNITA " Udine,
    • the Department of Russian language and Russian culture of the Milan State University.

    The main purpose of these Centers is to study the Russian language, literature, history of Russia, preservation of traditions, promotion of Russian culture.

    The purpose of this project is to meet the needs of Russian speaking foreign institutions and associations of Russian compatriots in the educational literature on the Russian language, history of Russia, St. Petersburg, Russian literature, that is required to make good the deficit of book collections.

    In 2018, more than 2,200 books were handed over to compatriot organizations. The transfer of Russian-language literature was organized within the framework of foreign visits of the Governor and members of the government of St. Petersburg, bilateral contacts with the coordination councils of Russian compatriots in foreign countries, as well as within the framework of St. Petersburg and foreign cultural and educational projects in Malta, Sweden, Iran, Bosnia and Herzegovina (Republika Srpska), Croatia, Belgium, Serbia.
