On December 3, 2018 the ceremony of laying the flowers to the monument of the great Vietnamese politician, follower of Marxism-Leninism, the first President of Vietnam, comrade Ho Chi Minh, took place in the institute of Ho Chi Minh by the Eastern department of Saint-Petersburg State University. The event was conducted within the visit of the delegation of the Youth Communist Union named after Ho Chi Minh of Ho Chi Minh city headed by the President of the Youth Federation of Vietnam of Ho Chi Minh city comrade Fam Hong Son.
In the ceremony of laying the flowers the representatives of the Committee in external communications of Saint-Petersburg took part, including the Deputy Chairman Vyacheslav Kalganov, Director of Ho Chi Minh Institute Vladimir Kolotov, delegates from Vietnamese community of the city, students-Vietnamists.
The visit of the Youth Communist Union delegation named after Ho Chi Minh of Ho Shi Minh city was dated to the conduction of the First Russian-Vietnamese Forum in Saint-Petersburg from November 30 till December 3, 2018.
The idea of organizing the series of bilateral youth events was born in May in 2018 after successful conduction of Russian-Vietnamese cultural and business forum and the work with the official delegation of Communist Party of Vietnam, headed by the member of the Political Bureau, Secretary of the city committee of the Communist Party of Ho Chi Minh city comrade Nguyen Thien Nhan.
For participation in the work of the Forum Saint-Petersburg was also visited by the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in Russia Nong Duc Manh as well as the delegation.
On November 29 the negotiations were held in Smolnyi with the youth delegation of Vietnam. From Saint-Petersburg’s side the meeting was conducted by the special representative of the governor of Saint-Petersburg in the issues of development the state construction and collaboration with the subjects of the Russian Federation Sergey Katanandov. From the Committee in external communication of Saint-Petersburg the Deputy Chairman Vyacheslav Kalganov was present on the meeting. The Parties discussed the preparation to the coming «cross year» of Russia and Vietnam.
On November 30 within the conduction of Forum the acting Governor of Saint-Petersburg Alexander Beglov met with the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in Russia comrade Nong Duc Manh. At the meeting the issues of strengthening further multilateral collaboration were discussed.
Besides the Vietnamese youth delegation took part in the work of Saint-Petersburg international youth forum PIYF 6.0 «Territory of actions».
More than 1000 young people from Russia and abroad participated in the Forum. Within the Forum the participants were involved into the creative communication and positive networking «open collar» with the well-known public men, leaders of opinion, representatives from the business sphere, state authorities, scientists and other experts.
On the discussion platforms of the forum the issues concerning the education, economics, modern technologies, youth entrepreneurship, international relations, culture, sports, mass media, patriotism and other actual directions were brought up.
