On 13-14 December the last performances of the project were held in Daugavpils (Latvia), Vilnius, Visaginas and Kaunas (Lithuania).
The organizer is the Committee for External Relations of St. Petersburg within the framework of the implementation of the state policy of the Russian Federation towards compatriots abroad by the Government of St. Petersburg.
The aim of the project is to promote St. Petersburg culture abroad and maintain ties between Russian compatriots, including the younger generation, with Russia and St. Petersburg.
This year, as a new year gift for young compatriots in the Baltic states, was prepared staging of the theater-festival "Baltic house " based on the fairy tale" Cinderella " with the participation of Father Frost and Snow Maiden.
Reference: Every year St. Petersburg presents new performances within the framework of the project. In 2014, young compatriots saw the presentation "a Gift for Farther Frost", "Treasure Island", " From trunk to tail: elephant rule", in 2015 - "New year's tricks of Baba Yaga", in 2016 – " Adventures of Mom Mu and her friends " and " Morozko", in 2017 – the play " Magic ship " based on Russian folk tales with the participation of Father Frost and Snow Maiden.
Upon completion of the performances in their reviews, the audience repeatedly noted the freshness in the author's reading of the play and thanked the organizers for the variety of the brought repertoire.
"The spirit of novelty is felt, the fairy tale was shown in a very interesting way-from a new side. We return home in a good mood," one of the students of a secondary school of Daugavpils expressed her assessment
The representative of the Consulate General of the Russian Federation in Daugavpils Vladislav Balakin, who was at the concert, thanked the Government of St. Petersburg and the theater "Baltic house" for the gift. "The presentation met with a lively response from the children and parents themselves. From year to year more and more people are waiting for this gift, and the halls are completely filled," he said, adding that he sees a great sense in this interaction.
The "Petersburg fairy tale" was warmly welcomed by compatriots living in Lithuania. The Chairman of the Association "Slavic wreath" (Vilnius), Tatiana Dvilevitch said that the Association, which she heads, combined all preschool institutions that conduct educational and training process in the Russian language. The circle of people involved in this process includes teachers and children themselves. "Your visit is a great contribution to the preservation of the Russian language in Lithuania, Tatiana Delevitch said. “Thank you for this tradition, for the fact that it is constantly supported, thank you to the entire Government of St. Petersburg, because we constantly feel its support".
