One of the major events of the IX festival «Japanese Spring in St.Petersburg» was devoted to the 30th anniversary of establishing the partnership between the cities of St.Petersburg and Osaka.

The guests from Japanese twin city conveyed a letter from the Mayor of Osaka with the greetings and wishes of success for organizers and participants of the festival. Young guests presented to Petersburgers an unusual dance programme, featuring Japanese traditions, festivities, and fairy tales. After the concert, the parlour of the Association for International Cooperation hosted the meeting of Japanese and Russian children. Young Petersburgers demonstrated excellent knowledge of Japanese language, while the Japanese guests were treated with Russian cakes and candies. Songs and laughter sounded during the whole evening. The children exchanged gifts and postal addresses. The evening was over soon, but the meeting put the beginning of a new friendship.

Mr Ichiro Kawabata, Consul General of Japan in St.Petersburg, welcomed the participants and guests that attended the concert, and visited the meeting of Japanese and Russian children.
